Expectations for Attendees

  • Respect and Inclusivity: Treat all participants with respect and dignity. Discrimination, harassment, or assault of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • Dance Etiquette: Accept or decline dance invitations politely. Respect your partner’s boundaries and requests.

  • Hygiene: Maintain personal hygiene, including washing hands, using deodorant, and changing sweaty clothing as needed.

  • Consent: Obtain explicit consent for any dance or movement, particularly for lifts or intimate behaviors.

Expectations for Staff and Artists

  • Professionalism: Maintain high standards of conduct. Do not pressure anyone for intimacy or engage in illegal activities.

  • Support: Help create a safe and positive space. Address any concerns raised by attendees promptly and effectively.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all policies outlined in this Code of Conduct.

Reporting Incidents

If you experience or witness any form of harassment, assault, or discrimination, please report it to event staff immediately. We will handle the situation with care and confidentiality.

Policies

  • Freedom from Discrimination, Harassment, and Assault: We strive for an environment free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or assault. This applies to all attendees, staff, volunteers, and artists.

  • Dance Etiquette: Respect your partner’s boundaries. You may stop a dance at any time if you feel uncomfortable or if your boundaries are not respected.

  • Hygiene: Ensure good personal hygiene. Emergency hygiene supplies are available in the washrooms.

  • Consent: Always seek verbal consent for any movement or behavior that might be outside normal dance boundaries. Respect your partner’s boundaries immediately.

Staff Policy

Our staff and artists are expected to:

  • Avoid pressuring anyone for intimacy.

  • Refrain from excessive intoxication.

  • Abstain from illegal activities.

  • Comply with this Code of Conduct.

Substances Policy

  • No Drugs: The event venue is a drug-free zone. 

  • Legal Compliance: Adhere to Australian laws regarding substance use. Illegal substances will result in immediate removal from the event.

  • Intoxication: Attendees who are too intoxicated to participate responsibly will be asked to leave.
